The web really is the most powerful form of communication on the planet.
After only 24hrs we have managed to get this Blog to number one position on google for “Aspects House Builders”. I amazed at how quick this blog has been picked up. Its also made it on to Google News which means over 200 other news website will have picked up on the story.
I have just sent a email to Andy Milne MD of Aspects making him aware of this blog only to get a auto-reply that he is out of the office till the 10th of December. Even though he promised me a call back today. This is another great example of Aspects total lack of customer service.
Here’s a nice bit of Aspects Door hanging. Sorry the pic is up side down but you get the idea about how big the gap is!! They said they were coming back to sort the doors out but like many of Aspects promises they are empty and full of excuses. One of the best excuses i heard was when they said they came to the house to sort the doors out, but we weren’t in. After checking my CCTV and seeing nothing I realised they must have been wearing invisable coats that day.

The thing I find interesting about builders is that they always say how good there reputation is, but how do we really know? And what should we the consumers try to do about bad builders.
Its took me 12 months to come to this answer and that is. That we should stop pleading and asking nicely for builders to put right there HUGE mistakes, and we should take things in to our own hands. I am in a lucky position as I have over 12 years experience in online marketing at my disposal. So I have decided to get my opinion out over the web.
Heres a few things you should do to make your dodgy builder story heard over the web:
1. Review the company on Google Maps. It’s quick easy and any prospective client looking for directions to there offices will see what a shody company they are.
Google Maps <<< Heres one I did earlier. Go on click it. I dare you!
2. Post on forums. There are lots of forums out there where you can tell thousands of people about your experiences.
3. Start a blog. Blogs are powerful tools. Make sure you post lots of nice pics. Write in a light hearted personal style.
4. Get other disgruntled customers to post on your blog. The power of the people can not be underestimated.
5. Don’t give in. Don’t be put off by legal threats. Just post them on the blog to get in even more publicity.
6. Use the press. Newspapers love the “Little Guy Fighting Back” style stories. Knock up a press release and send it over to your local paper and local news stations.

Just had a look a the Aspects Developments website and I spotted this:
LUCKLY WE ONLY TOOK ASPECTS UP ON A FEW OF THERE SO CALLED EXTRAS.
Here’s my exprience of there so called OPTIONAL EXTRAS:
Underfloor Heating: Works in 30% of the house. I have had to have a professional underfloor heating company come out and re-fit due to the system being incorrectly installed. He says it one of the worst fits he has ever seen. Picture Coming Soon.
Specialist floor coverings: What do they mean by this? I had top of the range mable tiles imported from Italy unfortunatly they were fitted by Aspects. As you can see from the pictures most are craked due to being laid incorrectly.
I also had Oak flooring through out most of which now needs fully re-laying. In one bedroom the floor actually waves at you. And if I put a marble down in the top floor bedroom it rolls away. Here’s a pic of a bit of Aspect so called specialist flooring. MIND THE GAP!!
Stainless steel handrail / glass balustrade : This one has got to be one of my favorites. I have a balustrade that they have only partly fitted to the wall its missing most of its screws (Photo Coming Soon). The glass was broken 3 times before they actually managed to fit it correctly.

There are very few things in life that really shock me, but I have just gone on the Aspects Developments website and I am gob smacked!!! The cheeky f**kers have put my house on there site as one of there show case houses. Where do these guy’s get off they build one house that catches fire and one thats got more problems than the millenium dome. And then they have the cheek to use a photo to show off how great they are.
I thought what could I do to counter act Aspects having a photo of my house on there site. So have decided to get a photo of there houses on my site. Unfortunatly that seems like too much hard work, so for now here is a photo of there offices.

I have just seen Aspects swanky new offices online I wonder if they have chacked the electrics because when they built one of our houses it burnt down the first time due to a electrical fault.

I have started this blog to hi-light and stop other people making the same mistake I did. It was one of the biggest mistakes of my life the day I chose Aspects House Buliders to build my new home. I intend to post some of the most shocking workmanship ever seen. How these guys are still in business is something of a mystery. If you live in a Aspect house or are a ex-Aspects employee don’t hesitate to get in touch with your horror stories. I am sure there are a lot of you out there.
